Eligibility
To qualify for admission, the applicant must have served on active duty, other than for training purposes, in the U.S. Armed Forces or the Reserves of the U.S. Armed Forces. Dishonorably discharged veterans are not eligible for admission. Eligible veterans must either be residents of Maine at the time of application, or have resided in Maine at the time of entry into the U.S. Armed Forces. Spouses, widows, widowers, and gold star parents of eligible veterans may also be eligible for admission. Gold star parents are parents of a son or a daughter killed in the line of duty. |
