Caribou was the second of our six multi-service homes. Opening in January of 1990, it is located in a beautiful country setting adjacent to Cary Medical Center in Aroostook County. Our Caribou facility is equipped with 70 beds and provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation and Alzheimer/Dementia care. Maine Veterans' Home - Caribou has a medical team that works for you, including a Medical Director and 24 hour RN coverage. The medical and therapy team's focus is on returning the patient to their home and community, whenever possible. Our Caribou facility develops an individualized plan of care that integrates nursing care with a rehabilitation program. Maine Veterans Homes in Caribou continuously monitors patient progress and measures outcomes.

Coming from Interstate 95 South: Take I95 to the Houlton Exit 302. Turn Left onto North St/US 1 North towards Presque Isle/Mars Hill. Proceed  27.4 miles to Mars Hill then turn left onto Benjamin Street (US-1 North, by the Mobile gas station). Proceed through Presque Isle into Caribou (27.9 miles). Turn left onto Van Buren Road (at the light). Continue 0.6 miles to the roundabout. Turn right into the Cary Medical Center driveway. Continue straight by the Cary Medical Center sign and then bear right.  Maine Veterans' Home - Caribou is straight ahead.
